DAYLIGHT SIMULATION & ANALYSIS

Our team conducts thorough simulations to analyze daylight and artificial lighting in each room or space. Using AutoCAD floor plans, we integrate them into our daylight and light model, accurately replicating room geometry. We meticulously model envelope features such as windows, doors, skylights, as well as exterior elements like cantilever, sun shades, and fins. These simulations are typically carried out for Equinox and Summer Solstice dates but can be adjusted to any other date as needed. We utilize weather files specific to the project location and run simulations under both clear sky and overcast sky conditions.

Through these simulations, we develop isolux contours and achieve lux values in a grid format. Based on these results, we provide recommendations for optimizing window and skylight dimensions and placements to maximize daylight in each space. Additionally, we conduct daylight factor analysis to ensure compliance with various standards such as IESNA, LEED, ECBC, and NBC.

Our simulations also evaluate the uniformity level of light in each space, which helps us validate the location and spacing of light fixtures, as well as the distance between them. We use actual illumination files for the fixtures selected by the design team to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in our simulations.
